How to opt out of Apollo.io: step by step

1. Go to apollo.io and scroll to the footer; click 'Don't Sell My Info' (or visit the Privacy Center)
2. Enter your professional email address and click 'Get Verification Information'
3. Open the email from Apollo and click the verification link
4. Your record is removed/suppressed; you'll receive on-screen and email confirmation
5. If your profile isn't found via email, paste your profile URL into an email to privacy@apollo.io

How long does Apollo.io removal take?

After you complete the opt-out, Apollo.io typically processes removals within 24 hours; up to 7-10 business days if manual checks required. By broker standards, that is relatively fast: many sites take 7 to 45 days.

The catch: your data comes back

The most important thing to understand about Apollo.io removal: it is temporary.

Apollo deletes the profile and retains only the email on a suppression list to prevent reactivation. Contacts already exported by customers into their CRMs are NOT removed (Apollo provides a rolling 30-day 'removal requests' list to customers but cannot force their deletion); the 2-million-contributor network means re-appearance is possible.

This is not unique to Apollo.io. Every data broker works this way. Your opt-out removes one listing. It does not stop the data pipeline. Staying off means repeating the process every few months yourself, or using a service that catches re-listings and re-files when your data comes back.

What Apollo.io's opt-out does not cover

• Other brokers are not affected. Removing yourself from Apollo.io does nothing to the other data-broker and people-search sites where your data is exposed. Each requires its own opt-out.
• Cached copies may persist. Google and other search engines may cache your Apollo.io profile for days or weeks after it is removed. Use Google's content removal tool to request de-indexing.
• Multiple profiles may exist. If you have lived in multiple states, changed your name, or have multiple phone numbers, Apollo.io may have built separate profiles for each variation. Search and opt out of each.

Use a dedicated email. Use an alias or a separate account for removal requests. Keeps your primary inbox out of Apollo.io's system and keeps confirmation emails organized.
