What data ZoomInfo has on you

ZoomInfo compiles professional contact data that sales teams, recruiters, and marketers buy access to. Here is what a typical profile includes:

• full name
• work email, personal and work where available
• freemail/personal email, personal and work where available
• direct dial/phone, landline and mobile, sourced from commercial providers and public records
• job title
• employer
• work history
• LinkedIn/social URLs
• location

How to opt out of ZoomInfo: step by step

1. Go to https://privacyrequest.zoominfo.com/remove/verify
2. Enter your email address, name and phone number, then click 'Get Code'
3. Check your inbox for the verification code from ZoomInfo Privacy Center
4. Enter the code and click 'Confirm'
5. Select 'I would like to delete and opt-out of the sale of my information'
6. Optionally indicate ZoomInfo should inform other data sites; complete CAPTCHA and submit
7. Await confirmation; processing typically takes 7 to 14 days

How long does ZoomInfo removal take?

After you complete the opt-out, ZoomInfo typically processes removals within 7 to 14 days.

The catch: your data comes back

The most important thing to understand about ZoomInfo removal: it is temporary.

ZoomInfo continuously re-scrapes the open web, LinkedIn, and its contributory Community Edition network (users sync email clients), so profiles can be recreated; periodic re-submission recommended. ZoomInfo does not remove Business Profiles, only individual personal profiles.

Data can return after an opt-out if the broker later ingests a new record. Whether and when that happens varies by company and source. Periodic checks can catch re-listings; a monitoring service can re-file when supported.

What ZoomInfo's opt-out does not cover

• Other brokers are not affected. Removing yourself from ZoomInfo does nothing to Datanyze, RingLead, Comparably, or the dozens of other sites where your data is exposed. Each requires its own opt-out.
• Cached copies may persist. Google and other search engines may cache your ZoomInfo profile for days or weeks after it is removed. Use Google's content removal tool to request de-indexing.
• Multiple profiles may exist. If you have lived in multiple states, changed your name, or have multiple phone numbers, ZoomInfo may have built separate profiles for each variation. Search and opt out of each.

Use a dedicated email. Use an alias or a separate account for removal requests. Keeps your primary inbox out of ZoomInfo's system and keeps confirmation emails organized.

Search every angle. Do not just search by name. Try phone number and email too. You may have more than one listing.

Document the request. Screenshot the confirmation page and save the confirmation email. Useful if you ever need to prove you requested removal.
